Vernon enjoys year round tourism thanks to three lakes for summer vacationers and Silver Star Ski Resort to attract winter recreation seekers. Many golf courses can also be found in the area including world famous Predator Ridge. Vernon is also serviced by Okanagan College, the Vernon Vipers BCHL Hockey Team, and The Vernon Morning Star newspaper.
