Real Estate in Lethbridge is divided into three city districts: North, South, and West.  Older, smaller homes are mostly found in North Lethbridge.  Homes built in the 60’s through 80’s are mostly found in South Lethbridge. Newer, larger homes are mostly found in West Lethbridge and some new outlying communities.  Prices for single family homes start around $150,000 in North Lethbridge, $250,000 in South Lethbridge, and prices range from about $300,000 to $450,000 in West Lethbridge.  Lethbridge home prices are still quite affordable, but the Alberta energy boom is forcing prices up.

The population of Lethbridge is listed at about 95,000 in the 2006 census. This is a census agglomeration which includes some outlying areas.  Lethbridge is the forth largest metropolitan centre in Alberta behind, Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer.  The city of Lethbridge has all the amenities that one would expect from a centre of its size.  Lethbridge is home to two post secondary institutions in The University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College.  Major sports teams in Lethbridge are the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Lethbridge Bulls baseball team.  Also available in Lethbridge are many cultural activities including visiting the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, The Galt Museum and Archives, and Fort Whoop Up.  The Lethbridge Viaduct, also know as the High Level Bridge, spans the Oldman River in Lethbridge at an astounding height of nearly 100 metres.  Lethbridge was originally founded as a coal mining town and an outpost for the Northwest Mounted Police.  Today Lethbridge is a centre for transportation and commerce for Southern Alberta.
